Throughout my writing career, I have been invited to speak at scores of events at bookstores, public libraries, community centers, all sorts of gathering places for people who love books and like to hear how they get born.

In 2016-2017, I traveled to 86 public libraries in the Pacific Northwest and Canada, presenting a program on the Soup Night tradition I describe in my book. I designed this tour and organized it myself. It was so successful that Publisher’s Weekly, the leading magazine of the publishing industry, featured my article. The presentations were so well received that many librarians asked me to return to do other programs.
