Soup Night

The 30 soup groups are literally across the entire country: Boston, New York, Chicago, Washington DC, Pittsburgh, Cleveland, Milwaukee, Seattle, San Francisco, Tucson, and many smaller cities in between. As I got to know them, what amazed me was that they all had the same wish – to live where people want to be real neighbors – and that they all came up with the exact same idea: start a Soup Night.  They are all very, very proud of what they have created, and they often describe their event in the same words: “now our neighborhood is like a small town … it’s like going back to the way the world used to be … I never worry about our kids, because I know they’re surrounded by people who are watching out for them.”
