Use the Bottle Cap

I bet you do this: instead of using a measuring spoon when very precise amounts are not critical, you pour straight from the bottle. But have you ever overdone it, accidentally pouring in more than you intended? My mom taught me this trick for vanilla, but it works well with many other things: Use the bottle cap. Pour first into the bottle cap, and you’ll automatically stop before you add too much.
