A BRIEF BIO

Maggie Stuckey is a versatile writer of nonfiction books for general audiences. At the moment, she has eleven books to her credit, primarily cookbooks (a new avenue) and books about gardening. Several of her books have been selections of Book of the Month Club, and two recent books are bestsellers: Soup Night: Recipes for Creating Community Around a Pot of Soup, and The Bountiful Container: Create Container Gardens of Vegetables, Herbs, Fruits, and Edible Flowers. In 2014, Soup Night won a Silver Nautilus Award, given to “well-written and -produced books with messages about caring for, understanding, and improving every aspect of our lives and relationships.” She is also the author of a handy guide to good writing in the business world: The Basics of Business Writing. Maggie lives in Portland, Oregon, where she grows all sorts of edible plants in a tiny patio garden and develops new recipes from the bounty of her containers.
