Gardening in February? Really?

Lettuce and Other Salad Greens. You can start these from seeds, but you may find it simpler to pick up a six-pack or two at your garden center. If you have a container garden, like me, try to find a variety pack, as just one or two plants of any one type will do you quite well for the season. In my garden right now (late January) is one lonely plant of arugula that was in one of the cells of a six-pack last September. It has survived two snowstorms, a monstrous ice storm, and my neglect. And it’s still putting out those delicious leaves.
