Container Garden

Most of us create a container garden one step at a time, one container at a time. Over a couple of seasons, you may end up with a hodgepodge of containers, and pretty soon you’ve got a mess. That charming hodgepodge has a way of turning into visual clutter. To create a consistent, elegant look, paint the containers all the same color. Yep, paint – the same stuff you use for your house. Can be any kind of paint: interior or exterior, water-based or oil-based. Choose a strong color like cobalt blue, bright green, or royal purple. And save some for touchups next year. You can paint any type of container except terra cotta; if painted, they will lose the porosity that is one of their strongest features.
