Meet Maggie

Greetings, and welcome. I’m so pleased you stopped by to visit.

I consider myself one lucky girl. I live in one of the most vibrant cities (Portland, Oregon)  in one of the most beautiful parts of the country (the Pacific Northwest) and I get to spend every day playing with words.

And I do mean play. I love to watch words dance, and skip, and sing. Writing is my livelihood, and I take it very seriously, but how fortunate am I to be able to work full time at something I love.  I love working in the garden, and I love cooking, and I love writing about both of them. The process of taking the wisp of a notion and shaping it into a book structure, then finding just the right words to express the ideas – let me tell you, it’s so much fun that sometimes I sit at my keyboard and giggle all by myself.

So, I want to extend a word of appreciation to everyone who makes it possible for me to have so much fun.

  • To bookstore owners, their staff, and their customers – thank you.
  • To people who’d rather hang out in a bookstore than just about anywhere else – thank you.
  • To librarians and library patrons – thank you.
  • To everyone who loves books and loves to read – thank you.
  • And to you, for spending time together – thank you.

I hope you will enjoy exploring this site. You will find more details about the two halves of my writing life:
(1)  my books about gardening and cooking, and
(2) my work helping business leaders craft their own books.

And if you feel inspired, I would truly love to hear from you.
